Initiating the idea of altering living from the opposite, AT25 is curated by engaging with the duality of past and present, internal and external, horizontal and vertical, and the intricate relationships between nature and architecture.
With characteristic of layout both in plan and section that emphasizes inwardness property, interior architecture is executed as a turnover of architecture to foster an ambiguous relation between spaces, allowing for a fluid interaction within the architecture.
Inauguration with the main entrance, living area is treated as an internal façade that serves as a pivotal moment, establishes a visual connection with a void from the upper floor to visualize their buddy as a first impression after entering.
At the core of AT25 lies a courtyard. Unlike a typical courtyard, this courtyard is elevated, departure from the traditional notion of such spaces. Positioned centrally, this courtyard expands the volumetric experience of greenery, seamlessly integrating both vertical and horizontal dimensions. Surrounding areas are linked, fostering multiple internal connections. This design choice not only enhances spatial dynamics but also encourages interaction among occupants, framing the courtyard as essential to the home’s character.
The elevated courtyard functions as the central spine of the house, bridging key areas such as the living space and bedrooms. It provides a dual benefit—creating moments of privacy while allowing for shared experiences oriented around a unified view of nature. This thoughtful arrangement invites residents to enjoy the serene landscape, emphasizing the balance between personal retreat and communal interaction.
AT25 celebrates the often-overlooked essence of inwardness in architecture. By establishing a compelling vertical core connection and dissolving the distinctions between interior and exterior space. While it promotes interaction among varied spaces, it also preserves the sanctity of private areas, creating opportunities for reflection and stillness amidst the home’s dynamic nature.
